How can we meaningfully present class data?
CLASS DATA
Project 1:
Statistics is about variation. Data vary because we don't see everything and because even what we see and measure, we measure imperfectly. Statistics is about the real imperfect world in which we live. Disciplines may be described through simple questions, such as;
Economics (its about money) Why is it good?
Psychology: Why we think what we think.
Biology: Life
Anthropology; Who?
History: What, where, and when?
Philosophy: Why?
Engineering : How?
Accounting: How much?
Statistics: Variation
Your task is to work with your team and analyze the class data. Upon making meaning of the data you will visually represent the data using, at minimum, one of each of the following graphs;
Pie Chart
Bar Graph
Histogram
Line graph
Scatter Plot
Time Plot (if applicable)
Stem and Leaf plot
Box Plot
Normal Curve
Phase one:
Each team is responsible for teaching the class on all aspects of the graph assigned. When it is best used and how to create both manually and digitally. Tuesday Presentations teaching
Phase Two.
Students will analyze the class data presenting the data in a visually appropriate manner digitally. A digital representation will be shown to class in a gallery walk
